About the Event

Translation and Interpreting at UC offers students advanced training in cross-cultural and cross-linguistic communication, enabling them to work as professional interpreters and translators. Students can hone their T&I practice in community settings, such as legal and health settings or explore the rapidly evolving world of AI and audiovisual translation (AVT). For in-depth language immersion, students can take advantage of internship opportunities or an overseas study pathway. If you’re interested in a programme that is practical, career-focused and informed by real industry knowledge, then our Translation and Interpreting programme is for you.

Qualifications include:

·         Eligibility to apply for certification tests with NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters)

·         Postgraduate Certificate in Translation and Interpreting (PGCertT&I) - 6 months full-time

·         Postgraduate Diploma in Translation and Interpreting (PGDipT&I) - 12 months full-time

·         Master of Applied Translation and Interpreting (MATI) - 18 months full-time (pathway to PhD)

·         Doctor of Philosophy (Translation & Interpreting) - 3–4 years full-time, up to 6 years part-time
