Overview
There are exciting research opportunities in Forest Engineering. Questions about how best to maximise production efficiency of mechanised operations; or how to minimise the environmental impacts of forest operations, or about how to integrate new technology still need to be addressed.
The Forest Engineering programme enjoys a very high level of support from the Aotearoa New Zealand forest industry, with many companies and harvesting contractors prepared to help out.

You can enter postgraduate study in Forest Engineering with either an engineering (BE(Hons)) background or a forestry science (BForSc) background.
Career prospects for students with qualifications in Forest Engineering obtained in Aotearoa New Zealand are excellent, both domestically and internationally.
