The Macmillan Brown Centre for Pacific Studies

Pacific Studies postgraduate study is done through the Macmillan Brown Centre for Pacific Studies (MBC) where students can complete Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy papers.

The MBC promotes and advances scholarship and understanding of the Pacific region, including Aotearoa New Zealand, its people, societies and cultures; histories; arts; politics; environment and resources; developments and future.

Macmillan Brown Library

Students will have access to UC’s extensive collection of New Zealand and Pacific literature housed in the Macmillan Brown Library. Developed from the personal library of John Macmillan Brown, a distinguished academic on Pacific Studies, the library contains original works from the 18th and early 19th centuries covering history from New Zealand and the Pacific region, including literature, manuscripts, photographs and artworks.
