Join us for this exciting talk from Cesare Fracassi, who is visiting us as an Erskine Fellow from McCombs School of Business - University of Texas at Austin. Cesare explores how crypto and artificial intelligence are reshaping the foundations of modern finance. He discusses how blockchain-based systems are challenging traditional intermediaries, how AI agents will reshape the economy and how the combination of the two may redefine the future of financial services.
BIO: Cesare Fracassi is an Associate Professor of Finance, the Director of the Blockchain Initiative at the McCombs School of Business - University of Texas at Austin, and the Fintech Research Lab. Cesare was on leave in 2022/2023 to be the Chief Economist of the Coinbase Institute and the director of economic research at Coinbase. He was also a member of the State of Texas Work Group on Blockchain Matters. His primary research interest is in blockchain, financial technology and corporate finance. He also teaches courses on fintech to undergrad and graduate students, corporate finance and valuation to MBA students and empirical corporate finance to PhD students. Cesare holds a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano (Italy), and an MBA and PhD in Finance from UCLA Anderson.
