Kia ora koutou y bienvenidos,
I’m an Ōtautahi local with whakapapa from as distant as Vernado Tuerto, Sante Fé, Argentina and Oamaru. I completed my PhD in History at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | UC in 2022 with a focus on the history of the American immediate abolition movement and have tutored almost the entirety of human history from the creation of the Earth to the twenty-first century.
Self-construction is a major theme of my research and I’m passionate about helping ākonga develop learning strategies that enable them to thrive at UC and beyond. My Kaitohutohu Whaikaha colleagues and I at SAS are happy to help you build the pillars of success in your chosen field.
I’m an avid musician (electric blues and funk guitar are my speciality) and composer in my spare time. To quote my favourite guitarist and composer Frank Zappa: “A mind is like a parachute. It doesn’t work if it isn’t open.”
