Sabina Piras is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Canterbury under the supervision of Professor Alessandro Palermo. Sabina’s research interests are particularly focused on the implementation of seismic technologies that minimize risk and damage for bridges. Her current research studies the influence of foundation flexibility on low-damage post-tensioned rocking bridge columns. With 10 years experience working as a bridge engineer, Sabina is focused on developing earthquake-resilient solutions for bridge infrastructure.
