HOW TO APPLY

My research focuses on risk-based analysis of natural disasters such as landslide dams and floods, with an emphasis on improving emergency management and evacuation planning in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Currently, I am developing an Agent-Based Model (ABM) to simulate evacuation dynamics prior to landslide dam events. This research aims to enhance proactive evacuation strategies by exploring different scenarios — including population changes and infrastructure disruptions such as road blockages or bridge failures during disasters. The study seeks to provide valuable insights for resilient and community-centric evacuation management before a hazard occurs.
