Research Title: Seismic Performance of CLT and Hybrid CLT Walls
Ben is focused on understanding and improving the seismic behaviour of mass timber structures. He is analyzing high-capacity connections and structural configurations to allow mass timber buildings to be constructed in seismically active regions. Large-scale wall testing in UC’s Structural Engineering Laboratory is at the core of his PhD study. Ben uses his 3 years of industry experience to inform his research goals as he aims to provide practical solutions for design engineers.
