Yumeka Hildreth is a Japanese New Zealander, born and raised in Ōtautahi Christchurch. She is a UC School of Music, UVic School of Music (Canada), and Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music Alumni. A specialist in new music and art song, she has performed in concert halls locally and in Victoria, Vancouver, Montreal (Canada), Baden bei Wien, and Heiligenkreuz (Austria). Performing credits include the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, the CBC award-winning Christchurch Cathedral Choir (Vancouver), the Toi Toi Opera Company, and the International Akaroa Music Festival. Studies include the Académie Orford Musique and the Franz Schubert Institut, where she performed in masterclasses of some of the world's leading Lieder artists, including Robert Holl, Elly Ameling, Roger Vignoles, and Helmut Deutsch.
As a vocal tutor, she has taught and currently teaches privately at her studio, at local schools in Ōtautahi Christchurch, and for the NZCT Chamber Music Contest.
