Murray has served on 23 Boards of Directors, 18 as Chairman. Those Boards have been for companies, Crown entities, incorporated societies, large infrastructure projects, digital transformation programmes and statutory interventions.
He has served as a chair of boards of directors continuously since 2001. In addition to Chair roles, he has served on the full suite of Board Sub-Committees – Finance, Audit & Risk, Capital Investment, Transformation, Appointments and Remuneration & Infrastructure.
Murray's approach is characterised by recognising good practice wherever it exists, and scaling and replicating it. This approach allows the development of elegant and practical solutions to seemingly complex problems, supporting those with executive responsibility in delivering organisational strategies and plans.
Murray holds a Master's degree, has spoken widely on leadership, governance and strategy. In addition, he has consulted for a wide range of public and private companies to assist them in improving governance practice, effect rapid change, manage poor Board performance and with start-ups and scale-ups as organisations evolve.
