Joanna Park completed her Bachelor of Music at the University of Canterbury, studying with Edith Salzmann, and later undertook postgraduate studies with Mario de Secondi at the State University of Music Trossingen in Germany.
After completing her studies, Joanna worked in Germany as a cello teacher and chamber musician before returning to New Zealand in 2011. She has enjoyed teaching students of all ages and abilities and values helping each student develop sound technical skills and a lifelong appreciation of music.
Joanna is currently a cello tutor at the University of Canterbury and teaches as an itinerant cello teacher at several schools in Christchurch. As a freelance cellist, she performs with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and continues to enjoy chamber music alongside her teaching.
