Henri Eliot is recognised as one of New Zealand’s leading governance advisors, with extensive experience as both a board member and Chair.

With an international education and a pragmatic commercial background, Henri stays at the forefront of global governance and business trends through annual executive training at Stanford, Harvard, and the University of Cambridge. Henri is also co-teaching Strategy and Governance on the MBA Program at the University of Canterbury.

His senior executive career has spanned global financial centres, including JP Morgan Chase and PwC in London, Deloitte in New York, the Bank of Montreal (BMO) in Toronto, and emerging technologies at Telecom New Zealand (now Spark NZ). Henri has a particular expertise in Artificial Intelligence, sustainability, ESG, and climate response, supported by a Master’s in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge.

Henri is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand, a member of CPA Australia/New Zealand and a member of The Law Association of New Zealand. He trained as a mediator at Harvard Law School.

He is the author of two widely reviewed books on corporate governance, Board Shorts (2017) and Board Shorts: The Next Wave (2022), both of which have been featured in international media and incorporated into university governance programmes worldwide.

Henri currently serves as Chair of Balle Bros Group, Dodson Group and Director at Maximon AI Limited.

He holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of London, a Master’s in Commercial and Corporate Law from the University of Auckland, a BA in Political Science from McGill University, an MBA from Richmond University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship from the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, and a Master’s in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge.
