Abstract
We would like to extend a warm invitation to celebrate Professor Tim Davies’ career. Tim formally finishes as an academic with the School at the end of this month and we are very keen to acknowledge the huge impact he’s had while at UC and across his career.
Tim has made major contributions to the Dept. of Geological Sciences since joining in 2004 including developing the HAZM (former) and DRR (current) programmes, fostered a thriving research programme (which earned UC considerable international profile and visits from many prominent researchers/academics in his field), and held several stints as Head of Department. A very popular and passionate teacher, he’s also supervised a vast number and broad range of research students. He has been a generous and thought-provoking mentor for various early-career academics, and many of us will chuckle thinking of a time that he’s unleashed his razor sharp wit to bring levity to a meeting.
