Nicholas Dewhurst (Bachelor of Engineering with Honours - Mechatronics)


Through my electronics company DewTron, I want to create a smart home system with a simplified installation process. The initial module idea for this system is a device that attaches on top of a light switch (without screws) and physically flips it. Other module ideas include a universal remote and various sensor modules. The system will be fully automatable and customisable and can be installed by tenants without consulting the landlord for renovations.

The purpose is to relieve unnecessary stress in relationships and encourage objective fairness. Divi works to be flexible around people with varying work ethics, external commitments and time schedules. By providing a platform to dividen real-world rewards, we provide real-world results.

The New Standard of Wrist Guards

Ghost Guard is a fully reimagined wrist guard for snowboarders. The user wears the guard while snowboarding to prevent a broken wrist during a fall. This lets snowboarders progress faster and with confidence as they know their wrist is protected when pushing their boundaries.

The comfortable and supportive internal structure, paired with the strong and lightweight external structure, creates the ultimate recovery boot to support the user through their recovery. Inspired by my Mum’s experiences with moon boots and my desire to help people like her.

• New Zealand design and manufacturing for future vehicles.
