I am currently a PhD student in Education at the University of Canterbury. My doctoral research aims to explore the role of social media influencers on adolescents’ wellbeing. With social media influencers holding a pivotal position across numerous social media platforms, it is imperative to delve deeper into their contribution to the well-being of adolescents. I hope that this study will bring an in-depth understanding of adolescents’ engagement with social media influencers and hence, be valuable to parents and society in supporting and providing an environment of healthy social media usage. Additionally, policymakers and those focused on adolescents’ wellbeing may find this study beneficial for future collaborations with social media influencers to impact adolescents’ wellbeing positively.
