Description

The course introduces drawing standards, projection theory, computer aided drawing and provides a basic understanding of engineering components and process safety.

Learning Outcomes

Learning Objectives

(i) To obtain an understanding of design and the design process.
(ii) To acquire engineering sketching and drawing skills.
(iii) To develop basic skills in the use of solid modelling software (CAD).
(iv) To develop applied design skills.
(v) Introduce concepts of risk and hazard and cover the chemistry and physics of typical hazards in the process industry.
(vi) Introduce basic electrical systems concepts
