This course comprises a 3-week study trip to Zhejiang Gongshang University in Hangzhou, China, where the student will take courses on Chinese business practices and culture, and interact with Chinese students and businesses.
This course comprises a 4 week study trip to China during which 3 weeks will be spent at Zhejiang Gongshang University in Hangzhou city, where the student will take courses on Chinese business practices and culture, and interact with Chinese students and businesses. The course will enable students to:1. Demonstrate an understanding of the differences between Chinese and New Zealand business cultures and etiquette and how these differences affect and influence New Zealand firms’ dealings with Chinese firms.(Group Project, learning journals, individual essay)2. Demonstrate an understanding of the significant differences between New Zealand and Chinese business environments, in the context of a chosen industry.(Group Project, individual essay)3. For 2014, qualifying students accepted onto MGMT228 will have their travel expenses subsidised by the Prime Minister’s Scholarship for Asia. This is only applicable to New Zealand Citizens and Permanent Residents. International Students are welcome to apply, however will be required to cover their own travel expenses if successful. Applications must be received by 5.00 pm, Friday 18 July, 2014. Please submit your application together with your statement of purpose via one of the following ways: • Via the online application form• Hand in to the College of Business and Law office, Level 2, Business and Law Building. • Scan your documents and email to Jeremy O’Rourke.Late applications may still be accepted depending on course numbers.This course is limited entry.
