An examination of evidence-based professional practices in the area of Early Intervention, including common professional practices of specialist teachers and other educational and health professionals involved in special and inclusive education.
Students who successfully complete this paper should be able to:1. Analyse, synthesise, and evaluate evidence-based practices in Early Intervention including generic interprofessional practices relating to special and inclusive education. 2. Apply a collaborative and consultative model of working in partnership with stakeholders, family, whānau, communities and other professionals involved in the early childhood and education sectors.3. Demonstrate professional skills relating to learning with, from and about other specialists through engaging in interprofessional communities of practice4. Demonstrate an understanding of Māori and multicultural concepts and practices as they relate to professional practice in general and Early intervention in particular
