Further study in childhood language disorders, focusing on the assessment and treatment of school-aged children with language impairment.

Assessment

Assessment Due Date Percentage  Description
Online Quiz 5% This quiz is designed to cover conceptual and applied knowledge of the material taught in class on normal language development in school aged children, The purpose of the test is to ensure students are able to respond to key questions which form the foundational understanding of SLT work in this area.
Case Study Assignment 25% This assignment requires students to integrate assessment information into a coherent account of a child's language status and need for intervention. Students will reflect on principles of assessment and how these apply to this case.
Intervention Portfolio 40% This assignment requires the student to critically evaluate the intervention literature in language disorders and apply that literature to the creation of language intervention activities across domains.
Final Test 30% The final test will be designed to evaluate conceptual and applied knowledge of the material taught in class, focusing on service delivery models, working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations and the education context. The test will include a case based scenario. The purpose of the test is to ensure students are able to respond quickly to key questions and problems specific to these topics.
