This course aims to help students understand some of the linkages between health politics and practices, the experience of embodiment and new technologies and various forms of knowledge production. A critical approach is taken to topics such as the politics of obesity, self-management in health, e-health, virtual embodiments, and social movements in health. Students will learn how to do Foucauldian discourse analysis and will also investigate a health or embodiment question of your own choosing.
