Special Topic 2005-06: Creative WritingThis course presents the apprentice writer with fundamental concepts in creative writing and offers ways of developing skills basic to the production of fiction and poetry. In 18 two-hour classes, it moves from a study of imagery through character, plot, narration, form and setting, to a study of classic themes of imaginative literature such as rebirth, the monster, ghost stories, mysteries and transformation and the notion of the dead end. It concludes with a session on drafting and publication.
