Description

This course will focus on the theory and application of performance management research. Considerable attention will be given to the development of performance management systems in organisations. Topics such as criterion theory and development, performance appraisal methods, feedback, job evaluation and reward systems will be discussed.

Learning Outcomes

  • After completion of the course the students will be able to:
  •  Explain the purposes, methods and applications of performance management and appraisal.
  •  Demonstrate understanding of how performance management fits in an organisation’s strategic plan.
  •  Critically evaluate performance management systems, understanding both their benefits and limitations.
  •  Design a performance management system.
