Statistics will be covered at an entry level, introducing an understanding of what statistics is, what is data and an introduction in how to collect, analyse, present, interpret and use data appropriately. Key subject areas that will also be covered include discrete and continuous random variables and probability. This is an introductory statistics course suitable for students with no prior knowledge or experience of statistics. However, Students who have not studied maths or statistics previously or beyond NCEA level 1 will find this course challenging and will need to work extra hard in their own time to ensure they keep up.
