Description

Introduction to price theory using some calculus: The neo-classical model of consumer and producer choice and general equilibrium, and deviations from that model including externalities and public goods.

ECON231, ECON204, ECON550 (prior to 2006)

MATH 108 or MATH102

The assessment for this course will comprise one mid-year test (to be held in the end-of-semester examination period), a final exam, 22 problem sets, and an essay.  The weighting for the various pieces of assessment will be according to one of the two following schedules, whichever gives the highest grade (except, in the case of dishonest practice as per the Course Outline).

Schedule 1:
