Mid-year Orientation, 9 July, 5.15pm
Join us for our mid-year orientation and enjoy an exclusive event for all students starting at UC in the second semester.
At the University of Canterbury we celebrate the arrival of new students with a range of entertaining and informative activities. The UC Students’ Association (UCSA) provides what we believe to be the best line-up of orientation gigs in the country. For semester 1, 2013 there were outdoor movies, fetes, clubs days, THE famous Toga Party, free lunches, a paint party and the list goes on. What’s more, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis just so happened to drop by and perform a concert especially for UC students – how great is that!
International student welcomes are also offered during orientation, as are dedicated activities for specific student groups like Māori & Pacific, Bridging Programme and College of Education students. Postgraduate orientations are provided every month throughout the academic year. See the full schedule.
Orientation gives new students an opportunity to find their way around campus, make new friends and to get prepared for their first day of tertiary education – which is a milestone worth celebrating!
