Description

This course will contribute to an understanding of the importance of bilingual/bicultural early childhood environments, and how teachers can work effectively within these. Students will gather information from relevant research and pedagogies to develop and strengthen tiriti based early childhood programmes and will learn how to develop and foster collaborative teaching and learning within a bicultural/tiriti based curriculum. A focus of the course will be the need for teachers of young children to understand and use te reo Maori in early childhood settings.
