Description

This course focuses on the economics of producing digital screen properties: financing, budgeting, permits, insurance, intellectual property, royalty contracts, working with unions and guilds, talent contracts and deal memos, asset creation and delivery, and understanding the role of the influencer. The course also covers securing permits, avoiding censorship, and understanding New Zealand and target country laws relating to libel, slander, privacy and tax. Students will apply this knowledge to the development and creation of a project in DISC403, "Digital Screen Project." The first part of a two-semester sequence followed by DISC402.
