A flexible approach

Our performance curriculum is tailored to the student to ensure you have the opportunity to develop your craft, gaining performance skills at the highest level. We recognize that in these exciting times of constant cultural shift, entering the world as a flexible and adaptive professional artist is crucial and we focus on the development of these skills. It is a holistic degree and can include a range of musical interests alongside performance. This opportunity to work between performance and composition, songwriting and digital music, enables an interdisciplinary approach to your art-making. Our full range of courses can be found here.

It is also possible for music students to undertake a double degree, or to include music performance as a minor as part of a non-music degree. Read more about studying a Bachelor of Music.

Opportunities to shine

As a UC music student, there are many opportunities to be involved in a wide range of public performances from first year onwards, often in collaboration with professors and teaching staff. We run an extensive public performance programme, with weekly concerts during semester time, frequently hosting active international performers to perform and work with students. You will be guided through your studies by our staff; cutting-edge international players, composers and researchers. Meet our School of Music staff.
