News and Features

Flu vaccinations available now
The flu vaccination is free for students enrolled at the Health Centre and casual students with eligible chronic conditions. For casual (non-enrolled patients) and international students the vaccine fee is $15. The UCSA offers a subsidy for casual patients and international students (up to 500 students) whereby students pay the Health Centre $5 instead of $15. Contact the UCSA for a voucher and then present it at the Health Centre to receive your subsidy.

We recommend getting the vaccine as soon as possible as it takes two weeks to develop immunity.

Enrol at the Health Centre
Being enrolled at the University of Canterbury does not automatically enrol you at the health centre - even though you have paid your health centre levy.

Meningitis/meningococcal vaccinations
We recommend and offer vaccination. Tertiary students, particularly if living in halls, are at increased risk.
