Undergraduate Opportunities

The Canterbury Roll is explored as part of the teaching programme in HIST253/373: Renaissance & Reformation Europe. Students may opt to undertake research projects that focus on the Roll as part of the course.

Undergraduates may also participate in the Canterbury Roll Project team via an internship (PACE395). This is available as part of the Professional & Community Engagement Programme. Student interns are added to the Project Team credits.

Postgraduate Opportunities

The General Editor welcomes enquiries from students interested in undertaking an Honours research project (HIST480) or taught MA dissertation (HIST660) with a focus on the Roll. To date, three such dissertations have been completed at UC.

Candidates for Honours or the taught MA in History may also opt to undertake a Canterbury Roll-related internship (PACE495) via the Professional & Community Engagement Programme. PACE495 can be taken as one of the four 30 point courses that comprise the Honours degree or as part of the taught MA; it cannot be substituted for HIST450 or HIST480 or HIST660. Student interns are added to the Project Team credits.

The General Editor welcomes enquiries from prospective MA and PhD candidates in the fields of History, Digital Humanities, and English who may be interested in exploring the Canterbury Roll further. To date, the Roll has been the subject of two completed MA theses at UC (Maree Shirota 2015; Jayson Boon 2021).
