Canterbury Grants are awarded to UC academic staff members on a competitive basis annually.  Academics from those schools/departments within the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Education, and the Faculty of Law that do not have access to the Erskine Fund are eligible to apply. The grants enable staff to spend between 30 to 90 days overseas to increase their knowledge and improve their teaching.

Annually a total of five fellowships and/or grants are awarded. Nominations from eligible schools/departments are assessed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic on a competitive basis. Applications are typically called for each May with a closing date of mid-July. Applicants can expect to be notified of the outcome of the nomination process in late August/early September.

All regulations, criteria and application forms are available on the UC Staff Intranet.

Please contact the Erskine Programme Office at erskine@canterbury.ac.nz if you have any questions.
