Overview

The annual University and Tertiary Sport New Zealand Championship sees all eight universities, and a range of other tertiary institutions compete in eight sporting championships held throughout the academic year. Points are awarded at each event based on final placings, from which an overall champion institution is awarded. UC is a high performing insitute and were the top placed South Island team in 2018 and 2019. In 2021 UC placed 2nd overall before covid cut the season off early.

Athletes

In order to represent UC at a UTSNZ event you must be an enrolled student at UC for the duration of the event. A selection committee will review all registered athletes, and will either select a team based on these details, or may hold a trial/s. Registration details are available in the table above. Players are requried to pay a player fee, which must be paid prior to the end of the academic year.
