Rest & Restore

Registrations for Rest & Restore (Term 3) are now open!
The rest and restore mini-series is aimed at introducing new wellness modalities to help keep you balanced and feeling restored. Explore different types of yoga, meditation and myofascial release to help keep your body tuned up and ready to take on the semester ahead.
What to expect in each session
Week 1 Connecting Within
Focus on establishing non-judgemental awareness through meditation and gentle opening yoga poses. The aim of this class is to connect inwards without judging ourselves, so we are better able to ride the wave of daily life, understand ourselves better, and make friends with our thoughts.
Week 2 Restore and Relax
This class is all about relaxing by supporting the body through restorative yoga. Use props to help support the body and connective tissue to help find a sense of deep relaxation. Through restorative yoga, we are able to activate our rest and digest mode of the parasympathetic nervous system, which enables us to nourish our bodies and our minds.
Week 3 Release
Myofascail release is used to hydrate and relax the connective tissues of the body by using massage or tennis balls. Work into tight areas of the body to help the tissues release and over time respond better to the load demand we put on them by exercising, moving or sitting at a desk. This a great addition to help balance any type of exercise you may already be doing.
Week 4 Mellow
Yin yoga is a great way to increase the body's range of motion, while also hydrating our connective tissues. Yin yoga also helps the body activate the parasympathetic nervous system so we are able to find calm and peace within our bodies.
Week 5 Keeping Mobile
This session will focus on working the mobility of the shoulder and hip joint through different yoga poses. The more mobile we are, the better we are able to stay balanced and avoid injury. This class will also focus on the gliding of the connective tissue which helps to keep our bodies happy and healthy.
