UCMeXL - An outreach and mentoring programme for Pasifika students
Delivered by the University of canterbury Pacific Development Team and the Pacific Liaison Office, UCMeXL has been strategically designed to effectively engage Pacific students with education. Inclusive of travel and meals, the aim of the programme is to increase the academic achievement of Pacific students sitting NCEA levels 1, 2 and 3 to increase their likelihood of participating in tertiary education.
"It helped me in more ways than I thought it capable of. At first, I expected to be studying the whole time, but what I didn’t expect was the hands on tutoring, lessons to help us understand more, group activities and creating relationships with people that I still have today."
