A New Home for UC Students on Campus
Set to open its doors in August 2019, Haere-roa, the new UC Students’ Association (UCSA) building, will once more be the centre for student life as well as a hub for cultural and artistic expression.
“Following the February 2011 earthquakes, our beloved Student Union Building was demolished, with students being without their on-campus home for the past 8 years. UCSA celebrates our proud traditions with the opening of Haere-roa, which will breathe new life into the on-campus student experience.”
-Sam Brosnahan, UCSA President
The new building encourages students to participate in social, recreational, civil and cultural activities. It includes office space for over 160 clubs and societies, Student Executive offices, student welfare and advocacy spaces, and a place to host events like celebration dinners, the End of Lectures Tea Party, and Grad Balls.
Under Haere-roa’s roof, longstanding UC clubs like DramaSoc and MUSOC are excited to once again have a stage for their innovative productions at the soon to be completed Ngāio Marsh Theatre and Performance Centre.
Make a gift to help UC Students once again find their home on campus.
