Sustainable Education has been recognised as a core strength for the University of Canterbury, with the University ranked 11th in world for this category in the first QS World Rankings for Sustainability.

The University of Canterbury is making a difference supporting the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Times Higher Education Rankings. The University is currently in the top 3% of universities worldwide, 50th overall worldwide, first in the world for SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production, 11th in the world for SDG 13 - Climate Action, and 29th in the world for SDG 15 - Life on Land.
