Costs and how to order

Please allow 10 working days for your order to be processed.

Due to Covid-19, we are finding that orders sent via International Post are taking a very long time to reach their destination (up to three months in some cases). If you require a physical (paper) copy of your transcript urgently, please select the 'courier' option when filling out the order form.

 

All students who graduate after 25 July 2018 will automatically receive a free digital transcript and testamur (qualification certificate) upon graduation. If you have not graduated yet, or you graduated prior to 25 July 2018, you will need to order and pay for your transcript according to the costs below.

The process

Online orders without a credit or debit card

All orders must be paid for online during the ordering process. If you have queries or concerns, please email transcript@canterbury.ac.nz

 

Official transcripts can not be released or uploaded to My eQuals until payment is confirmed.

An official record or official letter can not be issued if a student has outstanding fees or charges, such as:

  • Library fines
  • Tuition fees
  • Accommodation fees.

Your request will not be processed until the account is cleared with Financial Services.

Once any outstanding fees or charges are paid, please email Academic Records to let them know transcript@canterbury.ac.nz. Include your full name and your order number if applicable.

If you ordered a digital document (which is much quicker to obtain than a physical version) you will receive an email notification from My eQuals advising when your document(s) have been issued.  The email will be sent to the permanent personal email address provided upon enrolment or advised by you subsequently. 

Do not set up a My eQuals account until such time as you receive an email from My eQuals with the link to set up your account.  Please note that the email notification is frequently diverted automatically to spam / junk mail - please check these first if you are waiting for digital documents.

If you have ordered a physical, paper copy of the transcript/letter, this will be posted/couriered to you, depending on the option you have paid for.  This will take longer to arrive than a digital version.  Please note that we are not able to courier documents to PO Boxes - we require a physical address for courier orders.  If your order is to be sent out by courier you must include a phone number in your order details.

 

If you have ordered a physical hard-copy (paper) format and want it to be posted to a third party, then you must email transcript@canterbury.ac.nz to give authorisation, clearing stating:

  • Your full name
  • Your student ID number
  • The person to whom the document(s) should be posted and the reason why you require the document(s) posted to a third party.

Please allow a minimum of 10 working days (Monday - Friday) for your order to be processed.

Please note that this is guideline only; during busy times (i.e. immediately after grade release) it will take longer to process orders.
