150th Anniversary Graduation Week street parade –
Celebrate in the central city
To celebrate UC's 150th anniversary, and your graduation, we will be holding a special street parade during graduation week on Tuesday 4 April at 10am.
This parade marks the start of the Faculty of Engineering celebration and all graduates celebrating in April are encouraged to attend. We would love to see you there as this is a great way to celebrate your achievements.
The parade will assemble in Hack Circle on the corner of Cashel and High Streets, and will proceed along Cashel Street, Oxford Terrace and into Victoria Square. This is a wonderful opportunity for your whānau and friends to line the streets and celebrate with you. Regalia for all faculties will be made available for the street parade so everyone can attend.
We would also like to invite you to toast your achievements, and those of your fellow graduates, at the end of the parade. A graduate address from Ōtautahi Christchurch Mayor Phil Mauger will mark the occasion and all graduates will be gifted a UC graduation branded glass filled with orange juice for the toast. Food trucks will be available at the end of the parade and a koha of a t-shirt to welcome you as new UC Alumni.
Bus transportation to and from the parade
To help with transport we will be providing buses from Christchurch Arena to the Central City and back again. You can book seating for yourself, whānau and friends. Buses will be departing Christchurch Arena at 9am and travel to Hack Circle on the corner of Cashel and High Streets.
To return to Christchurch Arena buses will depart at 11.30am or 12pm from Kilmore Street outside the Town Hall.
Tickets are essential for everyone travelling on the bus. These will be checked prior to getting on the bus.
