Abstract

Astronomy Australia Limited (AAL) manages Australian Government funding for national astronomy research infrastructure on behalf of the Australian astronomy community. Our vision is for Australian astronomers to have access to the best astronomical research infrastructure, and our mission is to achieve this by engaging with astronomers in support of the national research infrastructure priorities of the Australian Astronomy Decadal Plan, and advising the Australian Government on the investments necessary to realise those priorities.

Mita will talk about the infrastructure priorities of the Australian astronomical community (GMT, ESO, SKA and data and computing), AAL’s part in Australia’s structured and coordinated approach to astronomy infrastructure governance, and her own experience moving from a STEMM background into STEMM management.
