Metastatis of Breast Cancer: TGF-beta Perspective

Abstract: Metastasis is complemented by invasiveness of cancer cells and induction of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT).Still; it is ambiguous that how the balance between TGF-β mediated cell proliferation and EMT are maintained simultaneously. NFAT has an important role in TGF-β mediated EMT by regulating N-cadherin. Over expression of CDC 25 A has been observed in breast cancer. Our results demonstrate TGF-β regulating CDC 25 A in a Smad2 dependent way, translocate NFAT to nucleus. NFAT in a co-operative way with Smad 2, up regulates Cdk2, Cdk4, cyclin E. TGF-β regulating NFAT in different way maintains the balance between EMT and cell proliferation concurrently.
