Research Interests

Auckland, New Zealand is situated on the Auckland Volcanic Field and, as such, is exposed to a range of volcanic hazards. Volcanic eruptions are complex events containing multiple hazards which can occur concurrently or in sequence and eruptions can damage, destroy or disrupt society through a variety of ways. Understanding how each volcanic hazard contributes to the overall impact of an eruption will help to improve resilience to volcanic eruptions. The aim of this research is to improve our understanding of how Auckland residential buildings are impacted by multiple, compounding hazards from an Auckland Volcanic Field (AVF) eruption.

Working thesis title

Multi-volcanic hazard impact assessment for residential buildings in the Auckland Volcanic Field
