Admiral Sir Gordon Tait University Scholarship


The scholarship was established in memory of Admiral Sir Gordon Tait who was a pupil at Timaru Boys' High School from 1935 to 1939, the son of A G Tait, Rector of Timaru Boys' High School from 1935 to 1947.

Nominations are made by the school. No application is necessary.



Pupils of Timaru Boys High School enrolled in a full-time course of study at the University of Canterbury. A student undertaking a gap year may defer taking up the scholarship for one year.
