UC Emerging Leaders' Scholarship

Description

This scholarship recognises high academic achievement, as well as leadership potential and involvement in community, culture, and sports activities, amongst intending first-year students at the University. Recipients have the opportunity for participation in a University of Canterbury-sponsored leadership programme. Currently approximately 100 scholarships, across a range of categories, are available.

APPLYING FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP
Applications for scholarships for those joining UC in 2019 have now closed. Applications for those intending to start studies in 2020 will open in June 2019.

Eligibility

Applicants must have completed, or be completing, a University Entrance qualification or equivalent, and have studied at secondary level, either in New Zealand or overseas, in the year of application (or in the previous year if they are on a gap year). Recipients must be New Zealand or Australian citizens, or holders of New Zealand residence class visas, and must have made an application to enrol for full-time study at the University by the second Monday in December in the year prior to their first enrolment. The award of a scholarship is subject to the recipient achieving university entrance.
