Courtney Shearer Memorial Scholarship in Engineering

Description

The scholarship supports undergraduate Engineering students in a Professional Year. It commemorates the service to the University of J E C Shearer, Librarian of the School of Engineering from its move to Ilam in 1962 until Mr Shearer's death in 1979. Mr Shearer's widow, Doreen Shearer, established the scholarship in 1995.

Applications will be accepted from students who came directly to university from secondary school, but preference will be given to those who did not come to university directly from school and who worked in the intervening period.

Applicants must be enrolled full-time in the School of Engineering in any Professional Year of a programme for a (BE(Hons)).
