Doctoral Graduate Women Canterbury (Inc.) Trust Board Scholarship


This scholarship supports students who identify as female, for study towards a research doctoral degree in the College of Arts or the College of Education, Health and Human Development at the University. It was established in 2017 by the Graduate Women Canterbury (Inc.)Trust Board to replace the New Zealand Federation of Graduate Women (Inc.) Canterbury Branch Trust Board Doctoral Scholarship, which had been established in 2000.

One scholarship is available every three years. In the years that the scholarship is available, the scholarship is awarded to the first-ranked candidate for a UC Doctoral Scholarship in the year of the award who:
a. identifies as female;
b. is a citizen of New Zealand;
c. will be studying in the College of Arts or in the College of Education, Health and Human Development; and
d. would not be offered a UC Doctoral Scholarship.


Candidates must be citizens of New Zealand who identify as female. They must have completed an appropriate qualification at a level judged to be equivalent to a bachelor's or master's degree with first-class honours at the University of Canterbury (equivalent to a UC GPA of at least 7.0).
