Harry van der Lecq Scholarship


This scholarship promotes the study and practice of Fine Arts in the studio area of painting and drawing at the University of Canterbury. It was established in 2003 in accordance with the provisions of a will made on 5 November 1998 by Hendrick Gerard Budewijn van der Lecq.

The scholarship is administered by the School of Fine Arts, and enquiries should be directed there.


An applicant must be:
a. 18 years of age by the time at which the scholarship is to be taken up; and
b. New Zealand-born and/or the son or daughter of a New Zealand-born person.
Tenure is during study at 300-level or higher in Fine Arts.
