Don McKenzie University Scholarship

Description

The funds for this scholarship were made available by Sir John R McKenzie in commemoration of his son, Leading Aircraftsman Donald Hugh McKenzie, and Leading Aircraftsman Jack Trevor Villers, who were lost when flying a Harvard machine on active service from Woodbourne Aerodrome.

Regulations

Eligibility

The scholarship shall be open to pupils of the Timaru Boys' High School.
To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must be certified by the Rector of the Timaru Boys' High School to the effect that:
i. the candidate is or has been a member of the first or second fifteen or first or second eleven teams.
or
ii. the candidate has gained a first or second place in any of the following school championship finals, or if there is no championship final then has achieved a prominent place in:
" swimming; or
" skiing; or
" athletics; or
" tennis; or
" cricket; or
" basketball; or
" a sport recognised by the NZ Olympic Committee
and
iii. the candidate has taken an active part in leadership in school activities.
