The Origins of New Zealand English Project charts the origins, features and changes of New Zealand English.

This theme explores bilingualism and multilingualism in Aotearoa, NZ, with a focus on linguistic equity.  

This theme uses computational methods to address social, cultural, and linguistic challenges.

This theme combines analysis of large databases of speech with experimental methods to understand the mechanisms through which language changes over time, how social factors lead to variation in linguistic patterns, and how listeners understand and make use of this variation in speech perception.

This theme is focussed on the understanding of how language is learned, and how this differs across contexts and across different ages
