This Saturday, 25 April is ANZAC Day.
ANZAC Day commemorates all New Zealanders who served and dies in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations and honours returned servicemen and women. The date itself marks the anniversary of the landing of New Zealand and Australian soldiers – the Anzacs – on the Gallipoli Peninsula in 1915.
The New Zealand Army Nursing service was set up in 1915 and 550 nurses served as part of the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces throughout the war.
