Cecil Wood was a prominent architect in Christchurch and designed many significant buildings around Canterbury, Otago, and Wellington through the 1920s and 1930s. The Macmillan Brown Library holds a collection of around 230 drawings by Wood. Some of the Christchurch landmarks were either damaged or destroyed in the earthquakes, making the collection an especially valuable record of Christchurch's architectural history, which would have otherwise been lost to the city.
This drawing also features as one of the online jigsaw puzzles created from items held in the Macmillan Brown Library art and archives collections, http://kohika.canterbury.ac.nz/puzzles.html
